Growing up in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Kara knew from a very young age that all
she really wanted to be was a singer and an actress. She first began singing
in her church choir and in school productions, then soon moved on to
performing in the local summer musicals. From there, Kara was on stage
as often as possible, doing everything from competing in pageants and vocal
competitions to modeling, dancing, and of course, more theatre.
She then attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas,
where she studied music and theatre. Here, she received invaluable
training and experience that strongly shaped the performer she is today.
After graduation, Kara went directly to graduate school, earning her
Masters of Music degree in Opera and Musical Theatre performance.
Her strong foundation in classical music allows her to to sing in any
vocal style, including Broadway, pop, standards, jazz, R&B, country,
gospel, and rock. After completing her education, Kara started
performing in various regional theatre venues across the country as
well as on cruise ships. When she was ready to take the next step
in her career, she packed up and moved to Los Angeles to continue
pursuing her dreams. Kara now considers L.A her home base and
continues to perform and grow as an actress, vocalist, and performer.
